EKUTHULENI

(Place of Peace)

Ekuthuleni is a Early Childhood Development Centre based in Kwamashu, which currently provides education and the correct nutrition to children who previously did not have access to this love and support.Since June 2016, Sithanda, a non-profit organisation, has been actively involved in helping support the growth of this centre.

This cause is close to my heart because it is not only providing these children with an education and nutrition but so much more as it brings a community together and teaches them to care for one another.

HOPE HOUSE

(Salt Surfers MRU)

Hope House is an NGO that has been close to my heart for a very long time. I have worked with them and seen them developing young kids and entrepreneurs over the last 8 years. Removing their focus from the negative things in life and empowering this young adults and kids to be able to create a future for themselves.

Hope House has various projects:
- a workshop and onsite skills development program to enable people to acquire skills to help them to create an income. We not only train, but also find markets for the products that are created
- SALT SURFERS, mentorship through surfing and sport for young people from difficult life environments
- GIRLS MAKE WAVES, a swimming, surfing and exercise program that inspires and encourages women to break fears and empower themselves
- a housing project. Every human being has a right to amenities, running water and a safe home . Our focus is to pair funding and the building projects with an eco friendly approach using rain water harvesting.
